Canadians United Against Modern Exclusion (CUAME) welcomes the announcement by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) that it has concluded its investigation into the Chinese Family Services of Greater Montreal (CFSGM) and the Centre Sino-Québec de la Rive-Sud (CSQ) without recommending charges. While this decision affirms the importance of due process, CUAME remains deeply troubled by the heavy toll that the unsubstantiated allegations leading to the investigation has had on the organizations and on the wider Chinese Canadian community.
